Management Team
Since joining medaptus in 2011, Malachi has played an instrumental role in every department within the organization, starting with client implementation. There, he gained deep insight into customer workflows and the workings of the healthcare environment. He then ran the Customer Care team and gained exposure to the project management side of the business. His next responsibility led him to running the Sales and Marketing team before taking on overall responsibilities for the business. Today, Malachi spends a lot of his time understanding the market needs, identifying what’s valuable to healthcare organizations, and enabling his teams to solve today’s biggest healthcare challenges, while also still being highly involved in medaptus’ Sales operations.
Malachi has been involved in a number of client implementations, including Sentara Healthcare, Vanderbilt, UMass, BayCare, and Baptist Health of South Florida.
When he’s not busy running the business, he enjoys spending time with his wife and kids.
Dr. Secan is responsible for guiding the clinically relevant aspects of the company’s products and services. He also currently serves as a practicing hospitalist at Emerson Hospital in Concord, Massachusetts. Dr. Secan has previous experience serving as Medical Director of hospitalist programs at two Massachusetts hospitals and has also led the deployment of mobile computing in the hospital setting.
Dr. Secan holds a BA from the University of Rochester and received his medical degree from the University of South Florida College of Medicine. He completed residency training in internal medicine at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center and later went on to obtain a Master of Public Health degree from Harvard University. Dr. Secan is board certified in internal medicine and is a member of the American College of Physicians as well as the Society of Hospital Medicine.
Vicky is a strategic marketing leader and is excited to oversee medaptus’ marketing strategy and execution. Vicky is passionate about solving problems and creating meaningful content and programs that solve our customers’ challenges and changes the healthcare space.
Prior to working at medaptus, Vicky spent six years at Trapeze Group, a software company in the transit industry (part of Volaris Group), as their Director of Integrated Marketing, overseeing a team managing multiple marketing channels and programs. She received her Bachelor of Arts, Honors, from McGill University in Montreal, Quebec (she’s a proud Canadian, eh). She currently works remotely from Miami, Florida where she lives with her husband and kids. In her spare time, you can find her writing, hanging out with the family, traveling, or reading – ask her for a book recommendation.
Gary leads the medaptus Technical Operations team. His primary responsibilities include managing the company’s data center operations, IT infrastructure, and HIPAA regulatory requirements and compliance.
Immediately prior to joining medaptus, Gary spent ten years with FM:Systems where he was responsible for the ongoing development and deployment of a global SaaS solution which supported facility management. Gary graduated from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas with a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice.
Tim has overall management responsibility for medaptus product development. Tim has been with medaptus since 2000 and designed the initial Charge Capture application on Windows CE devices.
Prior to joining medaptus, Tim worked as a consultant where he worked with companies such as Nortel, Kodak, Xerox, Texas Instruments, Eriksson, MCI, Mitsubishi, and Sharp. He has been developing embedded systems, mobile applications, business software, and managing software teams for almost 30 years. Tim has a Master’s Degree in Software Development and Management from the Rochester Institute of Technology with a concentration in Artificial Intelligence.
David is responsible for the onboarding, implementation, and ongoing success of the medaptus client base. He has been with the company for over 8 years with a focus on client services and account management.
Prior to medaptus, David was a Customer Success Manager at athenahealth, a large EMR and Practice Management system. David graduated from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management.
