Hawthorn Medical Associates Selects MedAptus for Professional Charge Capture Automation

MedAptus’ Customer Presence in Massachusetts Continues to Expand Markedly 

Boston - January 09, 2007 - MedAptus® today announced that its Physician Workstation solution will be deployed at Hawthorn Medical Associates, based in Dartmouth, Mass. Adopted by leading healthcare organizations and progressive physicians across Massachusetts and nationwide, the MedAptus solution drives accurate and compliant professional charge capture at the point-of-care, driving significant revenue enhancement.

In addition to being the largest multi-specialty group practice in the greater New Bedford area, Hawthorn Medical is also an affiliate of Partners Community Healthcare, Inc. and Partners HealthCare system. As such, Hawthorn is aligned with such widely regarded institutions as Brigham and Women's Hospital, Massachusetts General Hospital and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, also a MedAptus customer.

Hawthorn Medical, which recently broadened its clinical service offerings as well as its office space, sought an Electronic Charge Capture offering in an effort to reduce operational overhead and related administrative inefficiencies.

Also contributing to the practice’s decision to purchase Physician Workstation is the ease in which MedAptus can be seamlessly integrated with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) technologies. Hawthorn Medical will take full advantage of this interoperability by having clinicians enter their charges in MedAptus from the proprietary Partners HealthCare Longitudinal Medical Record (LMR) system. When reviewing and/or updating clinical data via LMR, rapid access to the appropriate patient in MedAptus will occur via the click of a single button, enabling the sharing of patient charge data between the two applications.
